Story
Life is hard in the Trara Empire and it has become much worse for you. You have just been conscripted into the royal search party.
The king of Trara desires the heart of a very powerful, and long dead, wizard called Varanu. The one who holds this wizard's heart gains all of his powers. The problem is, the heart is hidden and guarded by very bad monsters. Therefore, you have been ordered to find this heart on the king's behest and bring it into his glorious and royal hands.

In Tomb of Varanu, You and up to 4 (or more) will explore an dangerous dungeon and die horrible deaths by skeleks, blerks blerks, rats and more. But that's okay, you can respawn as a new pawn *cough* hero. You can work together or fight each other over the cool loot you'll find.

How To Play
Tomb of Varanu is about exploration. Your goal is to place all the room tiles. This will open the tomb of Varanu. Retrieve the heart and make it back to the stairs.
Setup
- Cut out game play pieces
- Place the starting tile (tile with stairs) in the center of your play area.
- Shuffle the room tile cards
- Separate item cards where you can see them
- Each player starts with 3 health
Movement
- Each player has 1 move per turn. A move happens when the player lands on a room tile.
- Enemies move when a player enters a room with a PAW symbol or a new PAW symbol is put into play. Enemy movement must immediately happen.
- - If the PAW appears during room discovery: enemy moves then player moves.
- -If an enemy moves into the same room as the player, the player can’t move, but the roll for the room can proceed. Place roll results into the new room. Player engage in combat. Player can escape to new room.
- Enemies can’t move into rooms with stairs.
Room Discovery
To discover a new room. The player draws the top card from the tile room deck, and places it adjacent to their position. When placing a new tile, tiles must be lined up door to door
After the tile is placed, roll a 6 sided dice to discover what is contained in the room. What is in the room is based on luck.
When a room contains a key, place a key into your inventory.
Spawning Tomb of Varanu.
When all room tiles are in play. The next room to be discovered will be the tomb of Varanu.
On discovery, roll dice to spawn Varanu Guardian. Place in room marked by the roll.
Guardian moves one tile to the nearest player each round. Instant kills player on contact. If player has heart, return heart to tomb.
Combat
Whenever a player shares the room with an enemy, the player must either completely defeat all enemies or roll to flee for each enemy.
Player must declare if they are attacking or fleeing before rolling.
In a combat round, the player(s) and enemy go in sequential order until one of them is dead or the player has fled.
Player Attack
The player can deal 1-6 damage by rolling 1 dice. The player can roll as many times as their weapons allows.
Subtract what is rolled from the enemy health. When the enemy health = 0, remove the enemy from the game.
Enemy Attack
enemies can deal miss or deal 1 damage to a player. During each combat round by rolling 1 dice for enemy attack. 1-4 = miss, 5 or 6 = Hit (remove 1 heart from player)
Enemy health is reset when not in combat.
PVP
Players can fight one another. The players take turns rolling as many times as their weapons allows. Rolling 1 six sided die. 1-4 = miss, 5 or 6 = Hit (remove 1 heart from player)
Fleeing
Rolling a 1, 2, or 3 will be a successful escape. Move the character back to the nearest discovered room.
Player Death
When a player dies. All player items drop into that room and can be retrieved by any player. A phantom also spawns in the room.
Player respawns to any tile with stairs.
Chest
Chest contains equipment, spells and potions. To open a chest you must have a key in your inventory. Discard key from inventory when you open a chest. Roll dice for chest content.
